A one-‐man, musical performance piece, written and performed by Grammy-‐nominated songwriter/author/peace pilgrim Rand Bishop. A World Premiere, TREK on Stage also marks one of the first public productions at the Pacific Maritime Heritage Center’s newly completed
Doerfler Family Theater. Parking is free. Doors open at 6:15. Only 124 seats available.

ABOUT THE PIECE:
On May 1, 2017, with bad knees, arthritic feet, minimal camping experience and zero knowledge about long-‐distance hiking, 67-‐year-‐old Rand Bishop returned a rental
car in Thousand Oaks, California and started walking home —to the Central Oregon Coast, 900 miles away.

TREK on Stage recalls Rand’s challenging, life-‐affirming journey in an evening of stories
and songs. Drawing on his new memoir,TREK:My Peace Pilgrimage in Search of a Kinder
America, the veteran writer/performer blends some of that unforgettable spring and
summer’s most meaningful encounters, events, and life lessons with a suite of original
compositions inspired by this once-‐in-‐a-‐lifetime adventure.

“My goal with TREK on Stage,” shares Rand Bishop, “is to give the audience a memorable, soul-‐stirring, emotionally dynamic experience, from laughter to tears.”
