Become encouraged to discover more about your personal watercolor style. Ongoing class demos will range from techniques like blooms, bleeds and washes, to discussions of style and the creative spirit, to skill with brush types and use, papers, water management, mixing colors and “color sense.” Freestyle, abstract, or realistic work is welcome. Learn to participate in soft critiques.

This course is suitable for ALL experiences levels. (Beginners welcome!)

All materials except a paintbrush and small sketch book included in the class. Please bring one good quality watercolor brush to the first class – #8 round* (or similar size). A full supply list of materials we will be using and recommendations for color pallets will be emailed after registration – for those who already have materials or prefer to purchase their own.

* #8 Round synthetic kolinsky sable – “Princeton Aqua Elite series #4850” is a great brush.

Robin L. Berry: Robin is a lifelong creator – primarily a watercolorist with a technical career.  Her teaching experience grew through 7 years of community art classes with Portland (Woodstock) Parks and Recreation where her “Watercolor for All” was well attended. She also taught beginning drawing and acrylics.  Along with an Associates in Technical Arts, she has studied painting, design, and art history at Grays Harbor and Evergreen and Clackamas colleges. She has participated in many workshops including, Erik Sandgren, Erik Wiegardt, and Fransis Fontana and she currently exhibits locally and paints regularly with a plein air group.
