Please join us, Sunday June 20, from 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM, at the Yachats Commons Pavilion for the Summer Solstice Shuffle. Food and beverages, including beer, provided by the Drift Inn, will be available for purchase. Bring a lawn chair and your dancing shoes.
Summer Solstice is celebrated around the world. It is the longest day of the year. As seen from the Earth, the sun will reach its furthest northern position. Festivities include gathering together, eating, drinking, singing and dancing. Sounds like a party.
Enjoy an afternoon of music with performances by Barbara Lee and Franki T, The June Rushing Quartet, and Weird Science Boyz. Sound will be provided by Sasquatch Sound.
Barbara Lee Turrill, Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist, has performed solo and in bands for over 35 years Barbara played for 10 years with Rick Bartow and The Backseat Drivers and recently with The Dalbey Gang. Her duo, Barbara Lee & Franki T, features Franki Trujillo- Dalbey on bass. “Southbound Door,” her recent CD, is a truly amazing collection of original songs written over the past 50 years. Her music is genuine, award-winning, lovingly crafted and unforgettable.
Franki Trujillo-Dalbey has been playing music since she was a teenager. She is the bass player for The Dalbey Gang and is the other half of the duo Barbara Lee and Franki T.
Singer-songwriters June Rushing and guitarist husband Joren are celebrating 25 years of playing music on the Oregon Coast. This will be their first post pandemic performance. Rounding out the quartet is pianist Steve Burkle and multi-instrumentalist Robin Remaily. The group performs a wide variety of styles and songs from Patsy Cline and Marty Robbins to the Beatles and the Grateful Dead with style, passion, skill and a whole lot of heart.
Weird Science Boyz is an 80's Power Trio Guitar, Bass, Drums, vocals You can’t stand still at a Weird Science Boyz show. Weird Science Boyz are Kevin Strever on vocals and guitar, Ronnie Jay Pirrello, vocals and bass, and Richard Robitaille drums.
The band presents a high-energy, dance-oriented costumed show that showcases their infectious love for the songs of the 80's. There is never a dull moment as the band plays song after song, barely stopping to catch a breath. Prepare for socially distance dancing.
This party will follow the most current guidelines for social distancing announced by the Lincoln County Health Department. Polly Plumb anticipates the event will be optional "mask-free" for vaccinated attendees. The bands will be socially distanced within the pavilion to protect the musicians. Attendees are welcome to listen and dance in the grassy areas around the pavilion and on the asphalt parking lot adjacent to the pavilion.
