Reedsport-based Bill Karcher is the artist behind Coastal Ceramics & WAK Art. William Albert Karcher III, a retired school teacher, is the founder and principal artist along with his wife, Mikayle Karcher.
What started as a hobby has turned into a small business bringing new life to the small community.
Bill is drawn to the area of fish and sealife. His projects include Raku salmon, trout, sturgeon, octopus, crab, bass, blue gills, striper, tropical fish and other subjects. If there is anything that peaks your interest, they can create it. Mikayle’s specialty is tile mosaics, mermaids, sea shells and custom tile work.
They also offer pottery classes at their studio, teaching the different techniques of ceramics. A great way to throw a birthday party for the young and old or just to stop in for a great stress reliever.
In Old Town Reedsport, stop in and see some of their art pieces at the Orca Gallery.
