A rotating outdoor art gallery in the city of Newport, Oregon.
These sculptural works enhance the beauty of our city and are rotated out biannually, giving residents and visitors the opportunity to view new, fresh artwork on a regular basis. Artists receive a $1,500 honorarium for the installation of their work, and pieces are offered for sale. The majority of the sale price supports the artist directly, while a small portion is given back to our community in support of public art.

Campsong
Paul Reimer (British Columbia, Canada)
Newport Performing Arts Center
Price: $5,000
About the artist: paulreimer.ca
Artist statement: I’ve had the great fortune to live my whole life surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Rocky Mountains. I grew up in a small town in British Columbia and I spent my childhood exploring those mountains and discovering the gifts they hold. It has been one of the great joys of my life to raise my own children here and help them to discover and appreciate the natural beauty of the Rockies. So many of my favorite memories are of camping with my family. All of us out under the stars at night – around the campfire – laughing, telling stories and just being a part of nature. Campsong is about the wonder and adventure of being out under the stars, gathered around the campfire with family and friends.
Steelhead
Ben Dye
Newport City Hall
$32,500
About the artist: bendyesculpture.com
Artist statement: I have always been drawn to the ocean. In my first career as a commercial diver and now as I pursue art, it is the draw of the unknown that keeps driving me to see what comes next.
Vortex Flux
Diego Harris
City Hall
$10,000
About the Artist: steelsculpturesbydiegoharris.com
Artist Statement: Vortex Flux is an abstract sculpture, but it can also be seen as figurative since it is plant-like in design. I titled it Vortex Flux because it has a very whirling, windswept feel to it, like smoke or water moving over stones. It could also be seen as a vining plant searching for sunlight or a serpent preparing to strike. You are welcome to find your own interpretation.
Cusp
MacRae Wylde
Newport Public Library
$8,400
About the Artist: macraewylde.com
Artist Statement: Cusp is a point of transition between two different states – the place where the curves meet. Cusp is both solid and transparent.
Giant Pacific Octopus
Steven Nagode
Newport Public Library
$4,500
About the Artist: nagodewelds.com
Artist Statement: My art and metal sculptures are a unique fusion of my passion for bicycling, my engineering background, and my deep connection to the stunning Salish Sea. I specialize in transforming raw industrial parts into beautiful, inspiring metal sculptures. Giving new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded.
