NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
Printmaking 101
with Cheryl Horton
Have you been thinking about trying printmaking, but are unsure of how to get started? If so, this class is for you! Join us for a 2-hour session at the Visual Arts Center, where you’ll learn about some different printmaking techniques and get to try out block printing. We’ll start with the basics of how to draw or trace a design, taking into consideration positive/negative space, mirror image, and relief. Once ready, you will transfer and carve your design onto a “speedy carve block”. We’ll also practice different ways to ink and print your block. Participants will go home with a block and at least two prints.
