Mandala Drawing & Painting

In this class we will explore mandalas and sacred geometry. We will start the class with creating and designing our own mandalas using different tools and some freehand drawing. In the second half of the class we will learn some watercolor techniques to paint our unique and personal mandala drawings. Creating mandalas is a calming and introspective process which encourages mindfulness, focused attention and self-expression.

About the instructor:Rena Ekmanis is a multi-media artist and illustrator living on the majestic Oregon Coast. Her art expresses a love and fascination with the natural wonders of our magnificent earth. A majority of her work is about the ocean and marine life, especially endangered species. She works in a variety of mediums including acrylics, watercolors, clay, wood and most recently mosaics made with microplastic marine debris.
