Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA) is proud to present the Great Art on Screen series at the Newport Performing Arts Center, 777 W. Olive Street in Newport. These visually stunning event documentaries from By Experience feature the most extraordinary and groundbreaking art masters of their time, in glorious HD color and depth.

Voyage through the masterpieces and obsessions of the genius and founder of Impressionism, Claude Monet, in “Water Lilies of Monet: The Magic of Water and Light” at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 16, hosted by Cynthia Jacobi and Gary Lahman. An art-world disruptor at the turn of the 20th century whose obsession with capturing light and water broke all convention, Monet revolutionized Modern Art with his timeless masterpieces.

An in-depth, exclusive tour led by Monet scholars of the museums that house the largest collections of the prolific artist’s lilies paintings including the Musée Marmottan Monet, the Orsay Museum, the world-famous panels at L’Orangerie and concluding with Monet’s own house and gardens at Giverny, the site where his fascination for water lilies was born.

OCCA appreciates the support of the Jeannette Hofer Fund at the Oregon Community Foundation, the City of Newport, and series benefactors Bill & JoAnn Barton, as well as individual event sponsors, which makes it possible to show By Experience productions at the PAC.

Ticket prices are $16 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $11 for students. Buy tickets online (look for the “Purchase Tickets” button above), at the PAC box office or by calling 541-265-ARTS (2787). Box office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday (excepting holidays), and one hour prior to performance times.
