The Oregon Coast Recorder Society performs winter and summer concerts in Newport and Lincoln City. These concerts are typically benefits for Lincoln County Food Share. Besides these events, OCRS appears at less formal venues, such as Yaquina Head Lighthouse, from time to time.

Our repertoire ranges from Elizabethan through pre-Baroque, Baroque, Classical, folk, and modern pieces scored for our ensemble, many by our conductor, Corlu Collier.

We meet to play music at 7:00 on Friday evenings year round, three times a month in Newport and once a month in Lincoln City. Meetings are open to those who can read music and are interested in playing early instruments, especially the recorder. Members also play viola da gamba, gemshorn, accordion, guitar, crumhorn, and a number of other instruments.

We invite beginners and experienced musicians alike to join. Please come and play with us to see what it’s like! Annual dues are $20, but you need pay only after your trial practice. For information, call (541) 961-1228 in Newport or (541) 994-4167 in Lincoln City.

Watch for performance announcements. If you play recorder, think about joining us.
