When Vicki retired from the Oregon Department of Human Services in 2011, one of her goals was to play music for seniors living in nursing homes with the Stringalongs music group. For the past four years, the Stringalongs have been playing at nursing homes to the delight of the seniors. The Stringalongs – a group of six women – get together once a week to practice their music.
Vicki is also committed to spreading French cajun music in Oregon. She has a couple of jam groups that get together several times a month. The jam groups have performed at grange halls complete with Cajun food such as jumbalaya.
When she is not practising her music, Vicki plays with her two grandchildren, Lillian and Evan.
