The Tibetan Buddhists have inspired the artist since 1976 when she attended a Black Hat ceremony in Honolulu given by the Karmapa. Further meetings with Tibetan Buddhist lamas and monks and visits to beautiful Buddhist temples inspired her current work which uses images of authentic Tangkas to create decoupaged art on wood.
The artist works primarily in watercolor. Many of the images from her whimsical paintings have been made into cards that are available in shops and cafes along the north Oregon Coast.
Edwards is also a licensed professional counselor who uses art in her work with clients.
She offers Art & Psyche classes to the public that support personal discovery through art-making, such as Mandala painting, the Self-portrait, Mask-making, and many more types of art experiences in her studio. See the EVENTS section for up-coming classes.
