The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts presents student artwork in the “Charcoal, Pencil, Paint” exhibit through June 1 in the Classroom Gallery. The exhibit includes student work developed during the Art Fridays winter 2019 session, focusing on the “FUNdamentals of Drawing and Painting.”

“My goal for the drawing classes was for the young artists to sketch using theirs eyes and hands as tools for examining and understanding a subject rather in focusing on finished works of art,” says drawing instructor Marcy Kenyon.  “I think all the students learned more about drawing and improved.”

“I would say that the kids had a lot of fun learning to explore and express themselves with paint. They were a joy to work with, and very inspiring!” added painting instructor Eileen Hearne.

“It’s important to recognize student work in a public manner,” says OCCA VAC Director Tom Webb. “Having the Classroom Gallery at the VAC is a real advantage for the educational community. OCCA is open to proposals to show student work from other schools and community groups as well.”
