Holiday Highlights
An afternoon of choral music presented by a 56-voice choir. The small ensemble SoundWaves will also perform three selections. There will be a short sing-along with the audience after the intermission.
Coastal Voices will present an eclectic selection of choral music celebrating the seasonal holidays of Christmas, Kwanzaa, and Winter Solstice. The musical choices are culled from 25 years of performances on the central Oregon coast by Central Coast Chorale–now Coastal Voices. SoundWaves, a group of 12 singers drawn from Coastal Voices, will perform three pieces. There will be a short sing-along after the intermission when members of Coastal Voices will mingle with the audience to encourage everyone to join in. The Newport show will include an instrumental ensemble accompaniment on two songs.

The overall theme for the 2023-2024 season of Coastal Voices is “Celebrating 25 Years of Our Favorites.” Artistic Director Rhodd Caldwell is paying homage to the twenty-five year history of the organization–first as Central Coast Chorale and now as Coastal Voices–by choosing favorite songs from the repertoire for performance this season.
