Spring Homage

The 53-voice choir Coastal Voices will present an afternoon of choral music celebrating many aspects of Spring.

Part I, “Sacred Treasures”, will include a spiritual and a Swahili adaptation of the Lord’s Prayer along with other liturgical works. In Part II, “Natural Wonders,” the choir will perform a varied mix of secular music highlighting the seasonal renewal of spring. The smaller ensemble SoundWaves will offer three selections. There will be instrumental accompaniment on some pieces. An audience sing-along will follow the intermission.

Special Afternoon at the PAC:  May 4 at  4 PM
For this occasion Coastal Voices, formerly Central Coast Chorale, will host Founder and Director Emerita Dr. Mary Lee Scoville.  There will be a brief ceremony honoring Dr. Scoville’s great contributions to the musical arts on the central Oregon coast.  As a choir director, community college teacher and church organist, Mary Lee Scoville has brought music into the lives of countless coastal residents of all ages.  Please join us in celebrating her legacy.

This concert will continue the overall theme of the 2023-2024 season–“Celebrating 25 Years of Our Favorites.” Artistic Director Rhodd Caldwell has chosen songs from the twenty-five year repertoire of the group, founded in 1998 by Dr. Mary Lee Scoville (director emerita) as Central Coast Chorale.
