The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts (OCCA) invites all fun-loving individuals, artistic or otherwise, to run through Nye Beach on Saturday, September 14 for the “Color the Coast” 3K Color Run fundraiser! Grab your family and friends, have a blast and bring a little color to your life! The fun begins at 8 a.m. and ends with a Color Festival Beach Party later that morning with music, dancing, color throws and prizes. Register online at http://coastarts.org/color-coast.
Start the race with a clean palette – a white T-shirt – and at color stations along the run (or walk) route you will be doused with food-grade, colored powder (cornstarch). Don’t feel like running? You can walk it, too! This event is family friendly – each participating adult can bring up to two children (aged 7 & under) along for free. Registration is set at $35 for adults and $25 for youth aged 8 to 18 years. Check out The Color Run’s website to get an idea of how this works!
“Color the Coast” begins and ends at the Newport Performing Arts Center in Newport, with color stations in between set at West Olive & NW Cliff St (in front of the PAC), NW 3rd and NW Coast (in front of Nana’s Irish Pub), NW 6th and NW Nye St, and the western end of the Nye Beach Turnaround.
The event provides fun for the whole family and operating support for the OCCA, whose mission is to develop, promote and celebrate community arts.
