Concert: Desert Hollow – Yachats

Polly Plumb Productions invites everyone to join us in welcoming back Desert Hollow for a Sunday September 13, concert. The 7:00 pm show is at the Yachats Community Presbyterian Church. The entertaining duo delighted the audience at their 2025 Yachats performance.

Blending the spirit of the California desert and West Virginia countryside, Xander Hitzig and Nicole Olney’s musical journey began in Los Angeles, as cast mates in a jukebox country musical. Now based in Maui, Hawaii, their unexpected connection and shared passion for song craft has since taken this traveling folk duet all over the world. Their debut EP, “Thirsty”, garnered attention being described as “a refreshing blend of old timey folk, blood harmonies, and knee-slapping hoedowns,” quickly landing themselves a feature on NPR Music’s Live Sessions, as well as opportunities to collaborate in out and out of the studio with the likes of Gregory Alan Isakov, Lukas Nelson, John Craigie, and Lily Meola. The duo is finishing up their first full-length record. Tickets cost $20.00 and will be sold at the door. YCPC is located at 360 West 7th Street.

Reviews

“A refreshing blend of old-timey country folk, blood harmonies, knee-slapping hoedowns, this album will definitely leave listeners “Thirsty” for more.” — Pop Matters

”I love it when new music drops into my inbox. I love it even more when it is as wonderful as this EP Thirsty from Desert Hollow. Music that is refreshing, melodic, full of hooks and marvelous harmonies. I’ll review it in full nearer to the release on 21 May 2021, but, oh my it’s very good…”– Hobo On The Tracks

“Modern indie folkies blaze a nu trail without ignoring what’s come before. Working right out of the box with a simple banjo riff and an innocent, plaintiff vocal, these young ‘un have the feel and the knack for hitting it out of the park in the first trip to the plate. Solid stuff that grabs on and doesn’t let go.” — Midwest Record

“A promising duo capable of expressing a leading role in the independent roots scene” –Planet Country Radio Show

Tickets are $15.00 in advance at purplepass and $20.00 at the door.
