“Damn Tall Buildings” are going up on the Yachats Commons stage Sunday August 7, as the energetic bluegrass band “Damn Tall Buildings” brings their exciting show to Yachats.

A performance by Portland musicians Cary Novotny and Brongaene Griffin will start this special evening of music.

Enjoy a big helping of bluegrass, served with a little punch, attitude, grit and gravy, then spiced up by a busking spirit. Saving Country Music .com wrote “Bluegrass at heart, but pulling from a wide range of influences including swing, ragtime, jazz, and even a hint of contemporary perspective in their songwriting. They offer virtually unmatched energy and enthusiasm, underpinned by intelligent songs that don’t skimp on the infectiousness…”

A special performance by Portland musicians Cary Novotny and Brongaene Griffin will open the show.

Classically trained Bronnie Griffin plays every genre of music. After exploring Bluegrass and Old-Time, Bronnie spent over 10 years in Ireland busking, and traveling the country to play dances, learning and listening to the great tune keepers and lore masters.

Cary Novotny studied classical guitar in Bowling Green, KY where he was also influenced by country, folk, and bluegrass. Cary earned a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Portland and began a career as a professional guitarist, singer and songwriter in the Northwest. Cary is described as “a masterful guitarist with an epic sense of harmony, song structure, and a soulful and captivating vocalist” Willamette Week.
