It’s the ultimate up-cycle!
We are looking for plastic marine debris in support of local artist Rena Ekmanis, who uses it in her mosaic art. We are asking our local community to please donate any pieces of plastic debris you have found while walking the beaches along our coast. We are looking for small to medium, mostly flat, bits of plastic in various colors and as clean as possible, please.
Rena Ekmanis is the 2024 Artist in Residence at the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and will be hosting a community art project using the debris to make mosaic tiles.
Bring your donated marine debris plastic pieces to the Newport Visual Art Center reception desk Wednesday through Sunday, 12pm to 4pm, through July 12th.
