Dylan Crawford
Live @ the PAC
7pm Friday, July 12

Acoustic guitarist Crawford performs a mix of folk, bluegrass-old country, and jazz-infused-funk-reggae-soul-blues, originals and covers, and event traditional songs that date back hundreds of years. While his is a solo acoustic act, with eyes closed you might swear it was a duo or trio. He’ll be foreshadowing his new album, due out in September.

In Dylan’s own words…
Picking up my first guitar at age 4, I have never lost interest, actually my love for guitar and music has continued to snowball. Growing up in McCall, Idaho I was self taught for years until eventually getting lessons in 5th grade and in high school. I studied classical guitar and jazz at University of Idaho for 3 years, performing in choral ensembles, jazz bands, classical guitar trios, as well as performing jazz funk and groove based music nearly every weekend extracurricularly at house parties, bars, and coffee shops. I made it into Berklee College of Music for one year following U of I, and was able to absorb a contemporary take on music education as well as the amazing opportunity to jam and network with some of the best musicians in the world that were my age. Learning to blend and make music with these players really taught me a lot about honing and using my musical ‘voice’ to fit in to a group of other unique musical perspectives and abilities. I formed a band called Massive Delicious and moved to Sacramento, for 8 years to pursue performing. I found myself in many bands and projects during my time in Sacramento, as well as getting heavily back into playing acoustic music, playing many duo and solo shows in that vein.

I relocated to Lincoln City, Oregon in 2019 for a much needed break from urban life, to focus on my music with less distraction and to nurture creativity. Massive Delicious, which has been in hibernation for several years, will be making a debut this fall following the release of the full length acoustic based album “Beneath the Dirt”. It’s a full band sound with some electric tones here and there as well. There are a few special guests on the album as well that will be announce upon its release. I will be playing a most of these songs at my Newport PAC performance.
