Block Printing on Fabric

Discover the ancient craft of block printing and learn how to transform plain fabric into unique, personalized textiles. In this beginner-friendly, hands-on workshop, you will be guided step-by-step through the entire process of designing, carving, and printing your own repeating patterns and leave the class with both your finished creations and your reusable carved blocks. All supplies will be provided for this class.

Age Range: Adults and youth ages 12+ accompanied by an adult

Cheryl Horton is based in Newport, OR where she is inspired daily by the wildlife and ecosystems of the Oregon Coast. She believes wholeheartedly that art is for everyone and must be accessible to all members of our community. While she dabbles in a variety of mediums and enjoys trying new techniques, Cheryl has been captivated by printmaking since 2020! As one of the first cohort in the Visual Art Center’s Teaching Artist Program, Cheryl has refined her teaching skills and looks forward to sharing approachable classes in a welcoming and supportive environment.
