From Forest to Form brings together artists from all three independent woodturning clubs on the Oregon Coast—Bay City, South Beach (OCW), and Reedsport—to celebrate the creativity, craftsmanship, and diversity of contemporary woodturning.

Oregon Coast Woodturners (OCW) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating woodturners and the public about the art and craft of woodturning. This exhibition brings together artists from all three independent woodturning clubs on the Oregon Coast—Bay City, South Beach (OCW), and Reedsport—to celebrate the creativity, craftsmanship, and diversity of contemporary woodturning.
Rooted in the forests and traditions of the Oregon Coast, woodturning has long been part of the region’s cultural heritage, including the legacy of the historic Myrtle Wood Shops. Today, the craft continues to evolve as both a functional skill and a fine art. Through the work of these artists, visitors will discover the beauty and versatility of wood while gaining a deeper appreciation for the creativity and techniques that transform it into artistic expression.
The participating clubs are also committed to serving their communities. Together, they promote education, mentorship, and public demonstrations that preserve and advance the art of woodturning. As one example of this commitment, OCW members have donated more than 600 handcrafted bowls over the past thirteen years to support the Florence Food Share’s annual Empty Bowls fundraiser.
