From the artist…
I believe the universe is a vast canvas, painted with incredible beauty from the rugged Oregon coast to the distant reaches of the cosmos. My subjects include wonderful “things” like massive waves, tide pools, comets, and galaxies, and incredible “moments” like Northern lights (aurora), total solar eclipses, and phases of the moon. I seek to unveil the magic hidden in the mundane that is revealed in the awe-inspiring moments in darkness that connect us to the distant stars. I prefer the jagged profile of a volcano, a rugged rock formation, and the thunderous boom of massive waves over towering cityscapes and man-made structures. My lenses capture light in a variety of forms, from distant galaxies to the luminous surface of the sunlit moon. I craft my art to evoke wonder and awe and reflect not just the light, but the emotional resonance of the target.
