Following her radiant performance in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, superstar soprano Nadine Sierra takes on another alluring French heroine. She sings the irresistible title character of Massenet’s passionate drama, broadcast live to cinemas worldwide. Her previous performance garnered immense praise from The New York Times. The publication raved about her “high notes that spun like liquid gold.”
Leading tenor Matthew Polenzani stars as her idealistic lover, the Chevalier des Grieux. Rising-star baritone Andrzej Filończyk joins them as her stalwart cousin, Lescaut. Director Laurent Pelly helms the breathtaking Belle Époque staging.
