Oregon Coast Council for the Arts will be accepting submissions for its first annual Member Show, featuring the diverse work of its coastal artist members. The exhibition will run February 4 – March 26, 2023 at the Newport Visual Arts Center, with an opening reception on February 4 from 2pm – 5pm.

Artwork can be dropped off January 30 from 3-6pm, January 31 from 9am-2pm, or February 1 from 12-4pm. (If you’d like your work to be considered for use in marketing and publicity, email images of your pieces by January 13. Scroll down for more details.)

Who can submit? Any OCCA Member, Advocate level or above.

What can you submit? Each OCCA member may submit up to two original works of art created within the last three years. Any media may be submitted, including drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, mixed media, photography, fiber, jewelry, sculpture, and more.

What can’t you submit? Work that is not your own original artwork, work that was created more than three years ago, work that has previously been exhibited at the VAC, and/or reproductions (giclées, photocopies, computer-generated copies, etc.) are not eligible.

What else should you know? Pieces must be show-ready / gallery-ready on delivery. Two-dimensional entries must not exceed 4′ in length or width, including frame, and must be wired and ready to hang (i.e. with screw eyes and steel wire). Sawtooth hangers, “clip” frames, and/or unstable frames cannot be accepted. Sculptural work must fit through a standard doorway. Some pedestals are available, or the artist may supply their own. Diptychs and triptychs (works created in two or three sections) will be considered as one entry. Please note: Unsold work must be picked up March 27 or 28 from 11am – 4pm.

Required artwork information: The following information MUST be included and securely attached to the back/underside of each piece: Piece title, your name, address, email, phone number. Please ensure the information will not obstruct the display of your work.

Please note:

* Image file names should include your last name and the title of the piece (example: “Davidson-Piece-Name.jpg”)
* High-resolution images are preferred, not to exceed 7MB (please do not send thumbnails)
* Must be received by January 13, 2023
