Exploring Alcohol Inks/Triskele Globe
Come play and experience the wonder of alcohol inks! Alcohol inks are exceptionally vibrant, beautiful, and easy to play with! This workshop will begin with a demonstration of alcohol ink use and techniques. You will have all morning to enjoy painting and experimenting with the inks. In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to turn some of your work into lovely Triskele Globes. Even a “botched” or very simple painting can make a beautiful globe. Additionally, black acrylic pens will be provided in the afternoon so that if desired, you can draw on top of your alcohol ink pieces.
Students should bring: A pair of scissors, an old washcloth or dish towel for wiping off brushes, and a piece of cardboard to place under the embossing tool.

Jocelyn Stoody has been a lifelong student and maker, and along the way has taught a variety of classes to students of all ages. She has become proficient in a few mediums and decent in a number of others, attending many classes – including two years at the New School of Visual Concepts in Seattle, apprenticing to a fabric designer in Seattle, certification as a Metal Clay instructor, creating and running her own business making original cremation jewelry for over 100 funeral homes, has had work shown in various galleries and shows, and has had pieces published in various magazines and books. For the past three years she has enjoyed exploring the breadth and depth of alcohol inks. She has taught two introductory alcohol ink classes at the Newport Visual Arts Center, and her paintings were featured throughout the summer of 2023 at the Hatfield Marine Science Visitor Center.
