Helen Abe-Ichien: A short, right-handed, Asian woman who makes prints. Still capable of making sense of light and dark, dynamic opposed to static, and perspectives — but puzzled about color theory and can’t paint worth beans. Sticking to making drawings, printmaking, and working with black and white.

Jenny Newell a.k.a. Anna Jane (PhishyBee Studios) – “I am Anna Jane, founder of Phishybee Studios. I am the type of person who has always needed a creative outlet. I have dabbled in dozens of crafts over the years. In that time, I have noticed that some of these practices seem to bring more joy than others. Some of my favorites have been sewing, photography, and block cutting.”

Jill Marks is an orthopedic physical therapist living in Newport, Oregon. She began printmaking in 2016, mentored by Heather Fortner. Jill’s artistic passion is printing wildlife and botanical specimens. Exploring various forms of print making – including gelli printing, eco printing, and lino cutting – has expanded her use of natural materials. Conservation is an important aspect of her printing, the ability to use her specimens for about 10 years (with good care) is a way to bring nature to the public without having to deplete the resource. She is a lifetime member of the Nature Printing Society.

Cheryl Horton has been captivated by printmaking since 2020, when her learning journey with this artform began. Her pieces in the show include linocut block prints and intaglio/drypoint. She is inspired by nature and everyday life on the Oregon coast.
