An opening reception is planned for Friday, October 13th from 4pm-7pm. An artist talk will take place, and wine refreshments will be served. This event is FREE.
Exhibits at Newport Visual Arts Center (VAC) are free to the public and can be viewed most Wednesdays through Sundays, from 12pm – 4pm, at 777 NW Beach Drive in Newport.
Steve Pickering is involved in making layouts, or fields, of physical and emotional experiences involving dynamic and stationary elements. He works abstractly, on paper, using a mix of media, layered over and worked in with found papers. His work takes the viewer on a journey through his subconscious with the energy and freedom of his collage and mark making, and arrives on the other side of his trauma with excellently executed compositions.
