Oregon Coast Council for the Arts’ annual community art exhibition – The PushPin Show – returns to the Runyan Gallery at Newport Visual Arts Center December 7th, 2025 – January 4th, 2026. This event marks the 35th anniversary of the community-based show, which has been expanded to include not only work hung on gallery walls, but also small three-dimensional pieces on pedestals.
The PushPin Show recognizes creative talent throughout Lincoln County and brings together the resources of Oregon Coast Council for the Arts, the VAC, the diverse talents of local visual and literary artists, and the public — to celebrate and support local art. Artists of all ages and experience levels are encouraged to participate, including beginners, emerging visual artists, established professionals, craftspersons, poets and literary artists, and hobbyists.
The public is invited to attend an opening reception at the VAC on December 7th from 2pm-4pm. There will be music, light refreshments, and attendees are encouraged to cast their vote for the sought-after “People’s Choice Award”. Voting will continue through December 14th.
Submitted artwork must be original and may not be AI-generated. Facsimiles or prints of original pieces will not be accepted, however photographs and human-created digital art prints are eligible. Participants must be able to hang their work with no more than four pushpins, and/or three-dimensional pieces must be no larger than 6″ x 6″ at the base. Most artists will hang their own work (singular works only), and pieces must be available for sale. The PushPin Show is a family-oriented community show, and therefore OCCA respectfully asks that submitted pieces be appropriate for audiences of all ages. ** Update 12/1: Pieces do NOT have to be offered for sale to be included in the show! **
“We had previously set a new requirement that all PushPin submissions be available for purchase this year. Our goal of inclusion for this amazing community event remains. We are listening, and we are hearing that the sales requirement has some questioning their participation in the show, which counters our mission. With the spirit of the PushPin and community in mind, we have redacted the sales requirement. Please help us spread the word. We look forward to the 35th year of incredible community artwork!” – Chasse Davidson
Lincoln County artists who wish to participate should deliver their work directly to the Runyan Gallery at the VAC (777 NW Beach Drive at the Nye Beach turn-around) December 5th or 6th between 12pm and 4pm. Please note: Artists must retrieve unsold artwork from the VAC following the show. Please plan to pick up on January 4th from 12-4pm or January 5th from 12-2pm. Artwork not collected within 90 days becomes property of OCCA.

Pieces in this exhibit that have been offered for sale can be purchased ‘off the wall,’ but we ask that they remain on display at least through December 13th.
