“Coastal Reverie” is an evocative art exhibit blending impressionistic landscapes of the Oregon Coast with abstracted representations of sea and shoreline creatures. The show aims to capture the emotions and intricate themes tied to the coastal environment, revealing its grandeur and the fragility of life forms.

Through her artwork, Natasha Ramras transports viewers to the majestic world of our Oregon Coast. “Coastal Reverie” spotlights the coastal beauty and diverse marine life, all rendered in rich, emotive brushstrokes and innovative abstract forms. The interaction between the impressionistic landscapes and the abstracted sea life paintings creates a layered narrative, emphasizing the diversity and interconnectedness of all life forms within the coastal ecosystem. Painting of ancient sea stacks, misty horizons, and vibrant tidal pools coexist with intricate abstractions of sea anemones, starfish, and seabirds, forming a cohesive yet dynamic visual dialogue.

Coastal Reverie invites viewers to contemplate the environmental fragility against nature’s power,” said Ramras. “It serves as a poignant reminder of our responsibility to cherish and protect the delicate balance of our coastal habitats. Each piece wis a testament to the beauty and power of the ocean and a call to honor the delicate threads that weave together the tapestry of life.”

Reverie is not just a visual treat but also a thoughtful exploration of the elements that make the Oregon Coast a unique and vital part of our natural world. It encourages reflection on the inherent beauty and the unseen connections that bind us all to the environment.

About the artist…

Natasha Ramras, an esteemed contemporary artist, hails from the enchanting Crimean Peninsula, where she spent her early years enveloped by its natural splendor. From a tender age, Natasha exhibited a profound passion for painting, which she meticulously honed at the Simferopol Art College. Despite initially embarking on a career in finance, Natasha never relinquished her artistic inclinations. Balancing her professional and personal spheres, she frequently found solace in painting during the tranquil hours of dawn and dusk. Her relentless commitment ultimately permitted her to devote herself entirely to the pursuit of art.

Natasha’s artistic muse springs from the awe-inspiring landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, evoking memories of her childhood surroundings. In the summer, she frequently engages in en plein air painting, creating concise studies and capturing photographs for future compositions. The winter months find her retreating to her studio, where she continues her creative journey.

Renowned for her exquisite manipulation of light, Natasha employs luscious, thick layers of paint to encapsulate the ethereal luminosity of her landscapes. This distinctive technique has become a hallmark of her oeuvre, distinguishing her within the artistic community. Her style is profoundly influenced by the masters Zorn, Sorolla, and Fechin, whose works have significantly shaped her artistic vision. Natasha is an active participant in a number of esteemed artist organizations, including the Pacific Northwest Watercolor Society, the American Impressionist Society, the Pastel Artists of Oregon, the Northwest Pastel Society, and the American Pastel Society.

Natasha’s oeuvre has graced several prominent galleries, including the Pacific Artists Alliance in Lincoln City, OR, Art at the Cave in Vancouver, WA, and the Ford Gallery in Portland, OR. Her exceptional talent has garnered her numerous accolades, such as Best of Show at the Southwest Washington Watercolor Society’s Spring Show in 2024 and First Place in 2019. Southwest Art Magazine recognized her as an “artist to watch” in 2021, and she was featured in a one-page spread in Judicature, a magazine for federal judges.

Collectors extoll Natasha’s unparalleled ability to capture and convey light, rendering her artwork both visually arresting and emotionally vocative. Her work continues to explore the intricate interplay of light and landscape, establishing her as a luminary of artistic excellence and innovation. Beyond the canvas, Natasha finds joy in tennis, hiking, and reading, activities that enrich her existence and profoundly influence her creative outlook. Through each meticulously crafted painting, Natasha Ramras invites the world to witness the unique beauty and luminescence she so masterfully portrays.
