Sacred, scandalous, and irresistibly alluring, Saint-Saëns’s spectacular biblical take returns in a larger-than-life production. The story follows a hero of legendary strength and the seductive Philistine whose beauty overpowers him. This masterpiece of French grand opera features a massive orchestra and chorus. It boasts some of opera’s most spellbinding tunes, creating a feast for the eyes and ears.
An electrifying cast leads the performance. It features the formidable star pairing of mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina and tenor Clay Hilley. Hilley also makes a notable company debut.
Streamed live in HD, as it happens, from the Metropolitan Opera stage to the big screen at the Newport Performing Arts Center’s Alice Silverman Theatre.

About the Newport Performing Arts Center
