Visual art learning opportunities for adults have always existed at the Newport Visual Arts Center, but they were typically presented on a drop-in or multi-day workshop basis. This summer, OCCA launches a more formal series of visual art workshops, classes and open-studio opportunities for adults. To sign up for these or other adult classes call OCCA Arts Learning Coordinator Sara Siggelkow at 608-346-0697 or OCCA VAC Director Tom Webb at 541-265-6569 or email twebb@coastarts.org; register online at https://forms.gle/jjHZgiDCPGM2Zfj28.
Wet-on-Wet Painting Technique
Learn to paint in one day using the Bob Ross “wet-on-wet” technique. Students will be able to experience how oil paints blend so easily and also how fast and easy it is to make a painting they will be proud of.
Paint the basics and take home your finished painting that you will proudly want to display in your home. With the understanding of the simple techniques class, you can continue to paint long afterwards with more ease and confidence than ever before.
Join instructor Gina Nielsen on Saturday, July 27 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with an hour for lunch. $80 covers all supplies, including a 16” x 20” canvas. Use of easels is provided. You just need an apron!
