The annual Yachats Banner Project is in full swing. 33 unique banners are now hanging on light posts along Hwy. 101 in Yachats. Raw primed canvas banners were distributed to volunteer artists in February. Each canvas banner is approximately 18″ x 48” with a rounded end. The artist’s designs were applied using acrylic paints. The 2024 theme is “Yachats Sings ”.
Now in it’s seventh year the project is coordinated by Yachats artist Michael Guerriero, with sponsorship and assistance from Polly Plumb Productions. In May 2022 a storm damaged many of the banners, Guerriero then redesigned the banners. They are now hung in July. They will be removed in early September, and auctioned off in a gala silent and live auction event, with an online zoom option. Guerriero also prints notecards from the banners. Previous years banner notecards are available at the Yachats Chamber office.
The 2024 banner auction will be held September 21, 5 pm – 7 pm in the Yachats Commons , 441 Hwy 101. There will be an artist’s reception at 5 pm followed by the silent and live auctions. with beer, wine and food available. View the banners online: pollyplumb.org/view-the-2024-banner-gallery
