The Oregon Coast Council for the Arts is pleased to present the annual Yaquina Art Association members’ show at the Newport Visual Arts Center (VAC). The exhibit will include paintings and three-dimensional work created by members of the association, which is a partner organization in the VAC.
The YAA has over 130 total members and over 70 artists are expected to participate.
YAA is a community-based non-profit art organization whose primary purpose is to provide art education and promote appreciation of the arts. Located on the turnaround in Newport’s Nye Beach neighborhood, YAA offers a variety of tuition-free classes, maintains a gallery and gift shop for local artists to sell their work, and funds a scholarship program for students in the community.
YAA has been a steady artistic and educational influence in the Lincoln County area since 1947. The Yaquina Art Gallery is located at 789 NW Beach Drive and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
