Founded and directed by Nancy Mittleman, in 1986, Pacific Dance Ensemble (PDE)is is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization established to provide students interested in pursuing a career in dance the opportunity to work and perform with professional artists, produce original works, and showcase their talents. These young dancers also serve as mentors and role models for younger students in the community, while sharing in the company’s high standards and vision.
PDE’s is committed to bringing cultural enrichment to both the dance community and the community at large, through:
Exchange programs with other dance groups (national/international)
Lecture demonstrations in our schools
Commissioning guest choreographers, artists, and dancers
Taking students to performances in other cities
Bringing performances to the stage at the Newport Performing Arts Center
