Julie Lamberson - Siletz

Atucucho - Oil pastel on paper, 15.5" x 10.25" , $250

Bio: Julie Lamberson is an Oregon coast native who sometimes ventures far from home. Her artwork similarly wanders away from watercolor. She is recently exploring large-scale murals, and for this sidetrip, oil pastel.

Note: In the context of masked faces, smiles have become even more precious. This 2003 smile comes from a girl who speaks Quechua, who lives in Atucucho–a shanty town perched at 10,500 feet– peering over the city of Quito.

 

Diane Lang - Eugene

Bio: Candace Law works with encaustic. “Art is about sharing our lives and experiences, and supporting each other.”

Note: Encaustic, a hot beeswax/ pigment medium, dates back to the Ancient Greeks.

Richard Laycock - Lincoln City

Bio: A Yorkshireman by birth, Richard Laycock employs his pastel art to reflect the magnificent Oregon Coast he now calls home.

Note: As our boat heads to port, the gulls wait for a handout.

John Leland - Oregon City

Coastal Rocks near Shore Acres (near Coos Bay) - Oil on linen, 24” x 36”, $3,200

Bio: John Leland received his BA from the University of Oregon and his MA from the University of Iowa. He was a college art teacher for 30 years and is now retired in Oregon City.
