Kelp and sewing needles included

Create a kelp pouch using materials collected from Oregon’s beaches.

Choose from kelp, seaweed, shell bits and other treasures that have washed ashore. Learn how to collect, process and store kelp. Sewing techniques will allow you to fashion one or more pouches that will be embellished with your handmade beads and other found objects Cheri collected over the years. The skills you learn will enable you to make more on your own, finding your personal style. Kelp materials and sewing needles are included in the registration.

This is a fun class with few rules and room for play!

Student Supply List: an apron, full-sized scissors, and two full bath towels that are used for crafts (or a roll of paper towels). Wear clothes that can get damp.

Optional: Awl, nytrile gloves, any beach finds that you might like to incorporate into your work. (Do NOT bring kelp)
